Black Eagle Mill Opportunity Zone
The Black Eagle Mill is a historic gold mill situated on Highway 103, Idaho Springs, Clear Creek County, Colorado. The property consists of 3.7 acres of land and a mill that was built in 1934 and operated until 1979. The building and the equipment are in need of rehabilitation and restoration. When completed, the Mill will have a capacity of 100 tons or more of material a day. We were fortunate to have been able to seize this opportunity and added this property to the Companies portfolio.
The Mill is not just a mining opportunity, it is a tax planning opportunity that we are making available to our community. Serendipitously, the Mill is located in Idaho Springs which has been designated an Opportunity Zone pursuant to Public Law No. 118-97. As a result, there is favorable tax treatment afforded to investors who utilize capital gains (realized within 180 days) for their investment.
